It's is a sad thing in today's Church that with the obvious need to evangelize mostly fallen away or lukewarm Catholics, the first thing that needs to be done is to deconstruct all the lies and half-truths and sentimental Catholicism that has been injected into the minds of so many. Unlike centuries and ages before when the Church was evangelizing barbarians and pagans and so forth, those people did not have misconceptions about Catholicism and the Catholic faith. In fact, they knew nothing except their false gods or no gods. They were essentially blank slates when it came to Catholicism and the Truth. But today, the authentic faith faces a challenge it has never had to before at least on this scale and that is to actually tear down all the false notions about the Faith that so many people have.
So, evangelization has in effect become not just a positive activity of telling people what they do not know but also a negative activity of subtracting from their minds and poorly formed intellects what they incorrectly know or understand. And you cannot look to the leadership in the Church for this. So much of the problem has derived from them — errant dissident heretical clergy, gay, careerists, misguided, cowardly, poorly formed themselves, you name it. The teachers themselves in many cases have become suspect or in some cases actually the enemy of the Faith.
So, all these various New Evangelization efforts are essentially worthless because they don't touch on the salient point that in the people's minds they are talking to are wild misconceptions about morality and mortality — about objective truth and natural law and so forth — all of this owing again to a clergy that has gone off the rails and abandoned its sacred duty to teach the truths of Our Blessed Lord. They have become disfigured social justice warriors and spiritual monsters — unable or unwilling to spread the truth of the Faith because in many many cases they simply don't believe the truth of the Faith. They have lost their supernatural faith and have therefore become dangerous.
Fortunately, Holy Mother Church is bigger than these men. They may occupy some of the important offices, temporarily, but they don't get to erase the history of the doctors and the saints and the mystics and the fathers. Those preachings and teachings and writings survive, and this is where Church Militant comes in. Given the horrible state of affairs in the Church, and they are horrible because they deprive people of the fullness of the Truth, we are introducing a little effort to help people gain access to the sacred truths and simply bypass the madness spewing from these spiritually insane clerics.
If you'll notice on our homepage — churchmilitant.com — we have a new drop-down tab that we are simply calling Catholicism. When you click on that tab a list of various brief articles, arranged alphabetically, will appear that takes less than one minute to read, covering a huge variety of topics of the Catholic faith. We are beginning with 50 and will be adding a couple every day, looking to building it up to hundreds and hundreds.
Think of them as a little minute catechism or minute of faith — a little booster shot for you. We have deliberately kept them very short so that they can easily be digested. Of course, if you want to know more, there are all sorts of references to where you can find out more. And — bonus — we have also developed them in such a way that you can print them out, each one will be completely contained to just a single page, and you can give them to your friends and family and co-workers, buddies at school, whoever.
We did this specifically because we know people's attention spans these days are extremely short, and these take less than one minute to read. So, please begin immediately taking advantage of these little Catholic nuggets of the glories of the Faith.
